  • 1000Miles and counting - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

I got the car 2 weeks ago and drove around ( Houston to Dallas trip) too. I was driving like a grandma for first 300 miles ( really low acceleration) and there on my friends drove it for 300 miles with full acceleration ( 10+ power bars). At the end of 1000 miles I got 39.2 mpg ( good I would say). Ride is comfortable for the long drives). Once I hit 60mph instant mpg drops to 36 and if I take it beyond 75mph it improves. Touched 85mph with just 3 power bars and ride is still feels smooth ( low noise).

  • 2014 Accord Hybrid Touring MPG WTF - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

I purchased 2 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring sedans for my house hold and neither one has gotten close to 50 mpg. I installed the HFP 19 wheels with Continental ContiSport 3s on my Touring sedan (from my old Accord coupe) so I can forgive that car of under whelming me in the MPG dept. But with that in mind the car seems to hesitate a lot during highway speeds above 55 MPH. Not sure what sure what the cause of this is. The other car has achieved 42 MPG once and averages 37. The driver of this car is VERY conservative so the problem isnt how the sedan is being driven. I hope that this a break in period thing. Neither car drives in EV mode more than %10 of the time.

  • A balance of Economy and Performance - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

Ive put nearly 10,000 miles on my Accord Hybrid so far. Ive averaged about 46 MPG with many of those miles coming over the recent cold winter. Using the heat can really take a hit especially on shorter trips. In the summer months Ive averaged 60-65 MPG in town. On several road trips Ive averaged right around 45 MPG.

  • Overcharging noise? Any other experience? - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid

There are quite a few reviews on here, I have to say I agree with them all. While the car isnt perfect in terms of transitions, you get use to it. My mileage is the same as most.. If its cold I get in the high 30s and if I turn off the climate system I get 45-55 depending on hills. My real concern is more in the form of a question for other owners. When going down a long hill, once the battery reaches max charge, my charging system or whatever is running in regenerative mode, seem to get louder and louder. At first I thought it was overheating the charging system, but as soon as you bring the battery down a bar the charging sounds normal again until you hit max charge again. Anyone?

  • So far so good, question about Battery Gauge - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

Just picked up my Accord Hybrid Touring edition a few days ago. Quiet, smooth, reasonable power. I have a question to you other owners. I cant get my hybrid battery gauge above 6 bars, and gas mileage above 40 MPG Does your gauge go to the full 8 bars? Id like to know before I ask the dealer. Came out of a Mercedes E350, not the same standard of luxury, but I love all the techno gadgets.

  • Everything good but rear windshield - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

I am happy for what I picked especially the mpg about average over 44 mpg for my first tank of gas. For all Accord hybrid: Please pay attention to your rear windshield, Have you see any object or image of waviness, curving around like you are in a steamy hot desert???? My Honda service manager, advisor all seems happen only on Hybrid. Honda wont do nothing if you all dont complaint it. I cant see ant straight line behind me!!!!!

  • Honda Did a Good Job on the New Accord Hybrid - 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid
    By -

Honda has done a good job on their latest Accord Hybrid. It is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the original HAH. Our other car is a 2013 Camry Hybrid XLE and the new HAH has a slightly better ride (feel and sound level) but looks and feels much more luxurious. The HAH trunk appears to be noticeably smaller than the TCH even though it is stated as only 0.5 CF smaller. The USB audio interface in the EX-L model is totally unusable, to the point we said we wouldnt purchase that model without immediately replacing the head unit. The I/F on the Touring is better but still not up to that in others products. The HAH is much more expensive than its gas counter part than the TCH.
